About Wunderkind: Wunderkind is a performance marketing solution that uses AI and data to help brands acquire and retain customers through one-to-one, personalized messages across websites, email, text, and ads, guaranteeing a lift in revenue. Founded in 2010, our goal is to scale a brand’s ability to create and grow customer relationships through websites, email, text, and ads. We believe individuals should have the freedom to choose the kind of internet they want. An internet that fosters genuine relationships with brands. An internet that treats humans like real people instead of “web traffic.” We also believe in empowering brands to treat their customers as individuals, satisfying their unique needs with tailored experiences and thoughtful communication. By expertly personalizing, automating, and scaling beautiful one-to-one experiences, Wunderkind helps brands acquire new customers at scale and keep them loyal for life. About the Role: The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing a high-volume portfolio of Wunderkind’s SMB clients, with a focus on retention, renewals, and expansion. You’ll own the commercial client relationship, develop a strong understanding of each client’s business priorities, and take a consultative approach to identifying opportunities that deepen the partnership and drive additional value through Wunderkind’s platform and solutions. You’ll partner closely with Customer Success, Portfolio Directors, and other cross-functional teams to ensure clients are realizing value while maintaining clear ownership of the relationship, renewal strategy, and expansion opportunities. This role requires someone who can balance relationship building with commercial discipline. You’ll manage a high-volume book of business, prioritize effectively across risk and opportunity, and turn a strong understanding of your clients’ businesses into retention and growth. Success in this role is measured by Gross Retention, Expansion, and Client Relationship Management. Responsibilities and Level of Effort (LOE): Retention & Renewals (35%) - Own renewal strategy and outcomes across an assigned portfolio of SMB clients, proactively identifying risks and developing action plans to support strong retention. - Build trusted relationships with key client stakeholders and understand the business priorities, partnership history, and internal dynamics that influence renewal decisions. - Partner closely with Customer Success and Portfolio Directors, bringing client context, relationship insights, and commercial strategy to renewal conversations. - Surface risks early and drive clear next steps rather than waiting for renewal conversations to expose them. - Maintain accurate renewal forecasts and ensure client risks, opportunities, and next steps are clearly documented. - Lead renewal conversations with confidence, balancing client needs with Wunderkind’s commercial objectives. Expansion & Growth (30%) - Identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships through additional products, capabilities, and solutions. - Develop a strong understanding of client objectives and connect relevant Wunderkind capabilities to opportunities for incremental value and revenue growth. - Lead expansion opportunities from identification through close, including discovery, positioning, solution alignment, and internal coordination. - Take a consultative approach to growth. Understand the business problem first, then connect it to the right solution rather than simply selling additional products. - Maintain an active pipeline of expansion opportunities and provide accurate forecasting against growth targets. - Partner with Customer Success and other internal teams to turn client performance, needs, and evolving priorities into thoughtful growth opportunities. Client Relationship Management (20%) - Serve as a key relationship owner for assigned accounts, ensuring a consistent and professional client experience throughout the lifecycle. - Build real relationships across the client organization and develop a strong understanding of each client’s business, objectives, challenges, and growth potential. - Communicate Wunderkind’s value clearly and confidently, helping clients understand how our platform and capabilities can support their evolving needs. - Establish credibility as a commercial partner clients trust to have direct, productive conversations about their business and partnership. - Navigate challenging conversations around risk, renewals, expectations, and commercial terms with professionalism and sound judgment. Portfolio & Operational Excellence (15%) - Manage a high-volume book of business, prioritizing activity based on client health, renewal timing, revenue opportunity, and risk. - Maintain accurate and timely account, opportunity, renewal, pipeline, and forecasting information within Salesforce. - Partner across Customer Success, Portfolio Directors, Professional Services, Product, and other teams to align on client needs and support account outcomes. - Leverage processes, tools, data, automation, and AI to manage the portfolio efficiently and consistently at scale. - Maintain strong account discipline and visibility so internal partners have a clear understanding of account health, commercial opportunities, risks, and next steps. What We're Looking For - Commercially minded and client-obsessed. You genuinely want to understand your clients’ businesses and can translate that understanding into stronger relationships, retention, and growth. - A relationship builder. You establish credibility quickly, develop trusted client relationships, and know how to navigate different personalities and stakeholders. - Consultative. You ask good questions, uncover the real business need, and connect it to a solution that creates value rather than simply pushing a product. - Growth-oriented. You naturally look for opportunities to deepen partnerships and are comfortable owning expansion conversations from discovery through close. - Full ownership. You don’t wait for someone else to surface a renewal risk, move an opportunity forward, or solve a client issue. You drive to an outcome. - Highly organized. You can manage a high-volume portfolio without losing sight of renewal dates, opportunities, risks, or commitments. - Data-minded and disciplined. You use account data, client health, pipeline information, and forecasting to decide where to focus your time. - A smart, honest user of AI. We give our team modern AI tooling and expect you to use it to work more effectively across research, preparation, analysis, and account management. We also expect you to review outputs, validate information, and own the judgment behind your work. - Direct and unafraid. You raise risks early, communicate clearly, and can navigate difficult commercial conversations without creating unnecessary friction. - Polished and credible. You’re comfortable representing Wunderkind with client stakeholders and can communicate clearly and confidently in both day-to-day and higher-stakes conversations. Qualifications - 3–5 years of experience in a client-facing Account Management, Business Development, Customer Success, or similar commercial role, preferably within SaaS, marketing technology, or a related environment. - Demonstrated experience managing renewals, expansion opportunities, or a revenue-generating book of business with success against retention and growth targets. - Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and consultative skills, with the ability to understand client objectives and identify opportunities to drive additional value. - Experience managing a portfolio or book of business with multiple simultaneous renewals, opportunities, and competing priorities. - Strong business judgment and problem-solving skills. - Experience with digital marketing, marketing technology, or consumer brands. - Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM to manage accounts, opportunities, pipeline, and forecasting. - Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to drive outcomes through teams you do not directly manage. - Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred. The base salary range for this role is $85,000-$100,000 base + variable. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each specific candidate; including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, applicable certifications, and geographic work location. This may vary depending on living location and market rate.
