About BJAK BJAK was founded on a simple belief: people deserve smarter ways to plan, save and grow their money. That is where our name comes from. We started in 2019 by building the region's first mobile-first insurance platform, making insurance accessible online to millions. Today we are Southeast Asia's leading insurance platform, and we are expanding into everything else people do with their money — spending, saving, investing, exchanging, travelling. Our teams span more than 20 nationalities across our offices and remotely. We look for people who work for the thing itself rather than the hours, who want to build the next generation of products rather than maintain the current one, and who care about getting great financial tools into everyone's hands rather than a select few. If that sounds like you, we would like to talk. Why This Role Matters We're not looking for someone to maintain relationships. We're looking for a builder who can turn partnerships into business growth. At BJAK, you'll own strategic insurer relationships, make things happen, move fast, and see your work translate into real business impact. What You'll Build & Own - Own the partnerships. Build, grow, and strengthen relationships with leading insurers. - Spot untapped potential, pitch bold ideas, and turn them into commercially viable partnerships. - Close deals. Lead negotiations, secure commercial agreements. - Build from 0 to 1. Turn ideas into actual launches. - Drive growth. Own partnership performance, revenue targets, and commercial outcomes. - Solve problems. Break through roadblocks, challenge the status quo, and find ways to get things done. - Move fast. Take ownership from strategy to execution without waiting to be told what to do. You'll Thrive Here If You… - You're a builder, not a coordinator. - You have a strong bias for action. - You own outcomes. - You think commercially. - You can influence and negotiate. - You're resourceful. - You thrive in ambiguity. - You want to build something big. What You Bring - 3–5 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or commercial roles. Insurance or financial services experience is a plus. - Proven ability to originate opportunities, negotiate deals, and deliver measurable results. - Strong commercial instincts, communication, and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and drive execution independently. - Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup where priorities evolve and expectations are high. - Based in Malaysia and able to work on-site at our Petaling Jaya HQ. We want someone who can walk into a room, spot an opportunity, win the partnership, and make it happen. If you need a playbook, this isn't the role. If you want to build one, let's talk.
