ABOUT US: Havoc is a leader in all-domain collaborative autonomy. Its software-defined hardware approach powers military and commercial-grade autonomous systems across sea, air, and land to sense, decide, and act together in complex and contested environments. Havoc connects assets, enabling them to share information, adapt in real time, and continue operating even when communications are disrupted or denied. Havoc optimizes mission performance and minimizes human risk. Havoc was founded in 2024 and headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island. Learn more at Havoc: All-Domain Collaborative Autonomy http://havocai.com/ . About the Role We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team. You'll design, specify, integrate and test electrical systems for our uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) and other unmanned platforms. You'll own components and subsystems across power conversion, energy storage, RF and communications, signal distribution and overall electrical architecture. The ideal candidate has taken electrical hardware from concept through design, assembly, integration and test. You'll work closely with mechanical, software and systems engineers to deliver robust, reliable solutions for maritime environments. Key Responsibilities and Requirements - Electrical System Design & Architecture: Design, specify and integrate electrical subsystems, including power converters, radios, compute, harnesses, circuit protection, batteries, actuators and antennas. Develop system-level architectures for USVs, including power trees, grounding schemes, communications pathways and redundancy. Evaluate electrical loads, routing and environmental requirements to support vessel capabilities and mission payloads. - Wiring Harness & Component Integration: Produce wiring schematics, harness drawings, connector specifications and interface definitions. Oversee harness fabrication and verify assembly quality, routing, strain relief and suitability for marine environments. - Build, Test & Troubleshooting: Lead subsystem bring-up, bench testing, environmental validation and vehicle-level integration. Verify RF performance, signal integrity, interference mitigation and link reliability on the bench and on the vehicle. Diagnose issues with power systems, EMI/EMC, communication links, sensors and embedded electronics. Support field testing, including hands-on troubleshooting during sea trials. - Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work with mechanical engineers on enclosure design, thermal considerations, EMC shielding and component packaging. Partner with software and systems engineers to make sure electrical interfaces are robust, deterministic and well documented. - Documentation: Create and maintain electrical schematics, block diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), test reports and configuration records. Support design reviews and engineering change processes. - Manufacturing Support: Partner with technicians and manufacturing teams to make sure electrical designs are manufacturable, cost-effective and suited to rugged marine environments. Help develop test procedures, build instructions and QA processes for electrical subsystems. Qualifications - 5+ years of electrical engineering experience focused on system design, integration and testing - Strong background in power electronics, power conversion and electrical subsystem integration - Experience with RF and communications systems, including antennas, radios, GPS and digital communication links - Able to create, read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and harness documentation - Hands-on experience with prototype builds, electrical assembly, test equipment and troubleshooting - Strong understanding of electrical components, grounding, EMI/EMC, and marine or ruggedized design - Experience integrating electrical subsystems into complex platforms such as unmanned vehicles - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field - U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Secret security clearance - Able to work onsite at our North Kingstown, RI and Rumford, RI offices at least 3 days per week - Able to travel up to 4 weeks per year Preferred Skills - Experience with uncrewed systems, especially maritime platforms (USVs, UUVs, UAVs or UGVs) - Familiarity with harness design, ECAD or PLM tools such as SolidWorks Electrical, Altium, Zuken or Arena - Knowledge of embedded systems packaging, grounding, shielding, and thermal and electrical tradeoffs - Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) for ruggedized, outdoor or marine environments - Strong analytical, diagnostic and root cause analysis skills BENEFITS: - 100% Employer paid Health Insurance - Dental and Vision Insurance for you and your families - Life Insurance (Employer Paid) - Ability to participate in the companies 401k program (Matching) - Unlimited PTO policy with an enforced 2 week minimum - Equity Package - Work / Home Office Stipend - Global Entry - 16 Week Paid Parental Leave - Monthly Health and Wellness Stipend OUR VALUES: - Innovation: We are driven to break new ground.
