📄 Mobile Developer 📍 Remote (Canada) | Hybrid Available – Kitchener, ON 🧑‍💼 Reports to: Software Development Manager Salary range: $115,000 - $135,000 CAD 🏢 About Encircle Encircle is leading the $1.6 trillion property insurance industry out of the dark ages of pen and paper, into the digital age of transparency and empowerment. Our easy-to-use software platform enables thousands of restoration contractors and insurance professionals across North America to process claims faster and with greater accuracy. We’re a remote-first company with a collaboration hub in downtown Kitchener—and we’re growing. 📌 About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mobile Developer to join our dynamic team at a B2B SaaS company. As a Mobile Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms. Your primary focus will be to ensure the best possible user experience and performance of our mobile applications. 🔧 Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and ship features for our iOS and Android apps, working closely with product, design, and backend teams from definition through release. - Use AI tools (such as Claude Code and other agentic assistants) as a core part of your daily workflow for planning, writing, testing, reviewing, and debugging code, and help shape how our team works with AI. - Own your work end to end: after a feature or change ships, monitor its performance, crash rates, and user impact, and follow through until it’s working as intended in the real world. - Leave the app better than you found it by addressing tech debt, improving test coverage, and raising the bar on performance and reliability as part of everyday work. - Build and improve our mobile CI/CD pipeline to automate builds, testing, and releases, closing the gap between mobile and backend deployment speed. - Integrate with server-side APIs and partner with backend developers on contracts and performance. - Participate in code reviews (including reviewing AI-generated code with a critical eye) to maintain quality and consistency. - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly, using data and monitoring tools to find root causes. ✅ What You Bring - 5+ years of professional mobile development experience, with apps shipped to production on iOS and Android. - An AI-first approach to development: AI is already ingrained in how you work day to day, not something you’re just starting to explore. You can speak to specific ways it has changed how you build, test, and ship. - A strong sense of ownership. You treat release as a milestone, not the finish line, and you can share examples of monitoring, iterating on, and improving something after it shipped. - Hands-on experience building or automating mobile CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, Fastlane, automated testing, app store release automation). - Proficiency in Swift and Kotlin, with working knowledge of Objective-C and Java for legacy code. - Experience with mobile monitoring and observability tools (crash reporting, performance monitoring, analytics). - Solid experience integrating with RESTful APIs and backend services. - Clear, proactive communication and a habit of raising risks early. - Bonus: backend or web development experience, or experience with offline-first apps used in field conditions. 🌱 What You’ll Gain at Encircle - Clear ownership over operational work that drives impact across the company - Exposure to progressive technologies and tools in a collaborative, cross-functional environment - A fast-moving, thoughtful culture where you can learn and grow in your career - The flexibility of a remote-first company with a strong culture of trust and transparency 🤝 Why Encircle? We VALUE our people: - Balance : Flexible hours, self-managed vacation, and trust to manage your time - Remote-first : Work where you’re most productive—with access to our collaboration hub in Kitchener - Growth-oriented : We support your learning and career development - Well-being : We care about the full human—inside and outside of work Encircle is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
