Redefine the future of customer experiences. One conversation at a time. At Nextiva, we’re reimagining how businesses connect, bringing together customer experience and team collaboration on a single, conversation centric platform. Powered by AI, driven by human innovation. Our culture is forward thinking, customer obsessed and built on the belief that meaningful connections drive better business outcomes. Whether it’s through our signature Amazing Service®, the technology we create, or the experiences we cultivate, connection is at the core of who we are. If you’re ready to collaborate with incredible people, make an impact, and help businesses everywhere deliver truly amazing experiences, this is where you belong. Location: While this role is open to remote candidates across Mexico, team members located within 80 kilometers of our Guadalajara office (Calle Amado Nervo 2200, Jardínes del Sol, 45050 Zapopan, Jal.) are expected to work onsite to support collaboration, speed, and execution. Nextiva is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and modernize our CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling. You’ll focus on one of the most important parts of the engineering experience: getting code from commit to production quickly, reliably, and safely. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to improve pipelines, reduce developer friction, strengthen deployment practices, and create reusable tooling that makes the right way to ship software the easy way. Nextiva’s platform is built on a modern microservices architecture, and reliability and adaptability are central to how we serve customers. Our broader platform strategy also leverages AI and automation to create better outcomes, making this role important to how our engineering organization continues to scale and evolve. What you’ll do - Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines as code across multiple services and engineering teams. - Improve deployment safety through progressive delivery strategies including canary, blue/green, and feature-flag-based releases. - Build reusable pipeline templates, shared libraries, and self-service tooling that make it easier for teams to onboard and ship consistently. - Improve build performance through caching, parallelization, and other approaches that reduce pipeline execution and feedback time. - Partner with engineering teams to identify and remove friction from local development, testing, CI, and deployment workflows. - Integrate appropriate AI-assisted capabilities into developer workflows, including use cases such as pipeline diagnostics, test generation or selection, code-review automation, and failure triage. - Implement software supply-chain practices including dependency scanning, artifact signing, and SBOM generation. - Use Infrastructure-as-Code to provision and maintain the infrastructure supporting CI/CD. - Monitor pipeline health and deployment success and use those signals to drive continuous improvements. - Help engineering teams adopt effective DevOps and delivery practices through clear communication, enablement, and reusable solutions. What you bring - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience. - 5+ years of DevOps or software engineering experience, with a strong focus on CI/CD and developer tooling. - Strong hands-on experience with modern CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Buildkite. - Experience designing pipelines as code and reusable pipeline templates. - Solid understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and deploying containerized applications through CI/CD. - Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code, including Terraform and/or Ansible. - Strong Linux administration and scripting skills using Bash, Python, or Go. - Experience with middleware or messaging technologies such as Kafka, Redis, or RabbitMQ. - Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK. - Strong communication skills and experience driving adoption of tooling across engineering teams. - Progressive delivery tooling such as Argo Rollouts, Flagger, or feature-flag platforms. Additional experience that will help you succeed - Software supply-chain security tooling such as Nexus, Sigstore/cosign, Syft/SBOM tooling, Snyk, or Trivy. - Experience applying AI/LLM-based tools to engineering workflows. AI literacy We’re looking for someone who understands where AI can genuinely improve engineering workflows rather than applying it for its own sake. - Experience using AI/LLM-assisted tooling to accelerate development, testing, troubleshooting, code review, or CI/CD workflows. - Ability to evaluate AI-generated recommendations or outputs critically before incorporating them into production engineering processes. - Curiosity about opportunities such as intelligent test selection, flaky-test detection, automated checks, and pipeline failure diagnostics. Nextiva DNA (Core Competencies) Nextiva’s most successful team members share common traits and behaviors: - Drives Results: Action-oriented problem solvers who quickly bring clarity and simplicity to ambiguity, challenge the status quo, and lead meaningful change; celebrating wins to fuel momentum. They act swiftly and pragmatically, learning and improving as they go. - Critical Thinker: Data-driven, forward-thinking individuals who identify key drivers, anticipate risks, and deliver clear recommendations. They confidently leverage AI and automation to reduce friction, improve decision-making, and focus on higher-value work. - Right Attitude: Collaborative, competitive, and resilient team players who jump in to solve tough problems, learn from setbacks, and foster a culture of service, respect, and care for customers and teammates.
