Ready to scale your career in a high-growth scale up where your results drive real world change? We’re Sensorfact, Europe’s #1 smart monitoring platform for the industry, on a mission to make industry smarter, cleaner, and more efficient. Every day, our technology helps thousands of manufacturers cut energy waste, reduce costs, and lower carbon emissions through intelligent data insights and automation. Today, we’ve joined forces with ABB, a global leader in electrification and automation. This partnership has propelled us onto the world stage, enabling us to expand rapidly and help more businesses optimize their energy efficiency, cut costs, and make a positive impact on the planet. Apply today and help shape a smarter and more sustainable industry. What you will do: You will eliminate industrial waste by architecting the next generation of IoT solutions that bridge the gap between hardware and the cloud. As a primary enabler in this hardware enabled SaaS mission, you lead the end to end development of wireless sensor systems from initial research and customer pilots to managing a massive scalable fleet. You will work within cross functional teams to master embedded software and automated factory feedback while ensuring data science teams have the high quality insights needed to drive global efficiency. Beyond technical execution, you provide the engineering leadership necessary to mentor peers through design reviews and scale a greener industrial future. In this role you will be part of the Edge Infrastructure team that is responsible for part of the platform. You will work mainly on our connected bridges that gather data from sensors and ingest the data to our cloud platform. Deep technical knowledge about systems, embedded Linux, and networking are required in this team. Some of the things you will be doing in your day-to-day work will be: - Develop and maintain our embedded software on the Debian based gateways. - Design, develop, and maintain our tools for fulfillment and onboarding, always striving to make them better but also more efficient. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and architect end-to-end IoT solutions that meet product goals and technical requirements. - Code reviews and provide feedback on your colleague's work. - Participate in brainstorming and ideation sessions to solve scalability challenges like, for example, building a VPN, optimizing data communication. What you bring: Must have: - 6 years of experience building software for connected devices, with (industrial) IoT products based on embedded Linux. - You have experience with the following scripting languages: Python and bash. - You have experience with at least one of the following languages: C/C++ and/or Rust. - Solid grasp of the embedded Linux boot chain (U-Boot, kernel, and device tree) and comfortable customizing device trees and kernel configuration for custom hardware. - Experience building and maintaining embedded Linux images with a rootfs/image build system (e.g. Yocto, Buildroot, pi-gen, debootstrap) and integrating kernel and userspace components - You have worked with a variety of interfaces such as serial ports, and Ethernet. - Networking concepts (TCP, UDP, DHCP, ARP, IP, etc). - Embedded systems communication protocols (MQTT, NATs, etc) - You are comfortable in a growing, changing environment; even more than that, you thrive in these. We are a product-driven company, so customer impact is what guides us, engineering sustainability and excellence is what fuels us. - You like an effective and clear communication style and work well with colleagues from different backgrounds and expertise. Nice to have: - Have an MSc level education in a technical field, preferably specializing in embedded systems, industrial technology, or similar. - You have knowledge or experience with wireless protocols e.g: EnOcean, BLE, WiFi, LTE - You are familiar with electronics design (enough to read schematics and debug a board). - Experience with over-the-air update systems and A/B-style robust updates (Mender, Memfault, etc), including update safety and rollback across a device fleet. - Familiarity with secure boot and the ARM TrustZone stack (TF-A, OP-TEE) and/or packaging services onto a Linux image. - Previous experience in IoT system architecture and design Why you will love working here: - Grow your career as we scale - Pension Contribution of 4% with an employer sponsored retirement plan - Public transport allowance via NS business card - Employee Referral Incentives up to €3,000 for a successful referral - 27 Vacation Days to rest and recharge - Remote Work Flexibility up to 2 months/year (with manager approval) - Structured Onboarding & Mentorship support - Social Events like Sensorfact Week & team dinners - Office Perks like unlimited coffee, snacks, and free Friday lunch On top of that…We offer you the usual: a contract for 32-40 hours per week. Maximum flexibility regarding working from home/office: You decide where the best and most efficient workplace is. An open culture where you get a lot of freedom and where taking ownership is valued and encouraged. We value our craftsmanship, but at the same time, pragmatism is one of our core values.
