Help us rebuild a consumer-facing AI/LegalTech product from the ground up — used by people navigating real legal moments (a separation, a will, a family matter) and the lawyers helping them through it. - Genuine full stack role with a Frontend focus - Flexible, hybrid Sydney based role – 3 days in office - No technical debt! Come and do your best work with interesting tech About Settify Settify, an AI-backed technology, helps legal clients in preparing and presenting their personal stories effectively. It streamlines the initial information-gathering process, helping clients articulate key details when seeking legal assistance, particularly in areas like family law and wills. Collecting new client information can involve significant time and cost spent on both sides. Using Settify saves time, increases the accuracy of their work and ultimately, helps their clients by reducing their costs and increases their chance of success in their matters. Settify is a member of the LEAP group of companies - the leading provider of Legal Practice Management Solutions in the world. Over a 30-year period we've expanded across Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Poland and New Zealand and support more than 70,000 lawyers and their staff in small and medium sized law firms. We owe our success to our curiosity and commitment to our guiding purpose, to 'Help lawyers who help people'. What you'll do As a pivotal member of the team, you'll help shape the development of an AI-driven legal product that provides users with intelligent tools for managing their legal information. You'll be instrumental in rebuilding the entire application from the ground up, making it fully customisable and content-driven to streamline legal client intake and case preparation. This will involve integrating advanced AI features to enhance the product's intelligence and user experience. To make this happen you will: - Help design and implement the product architecture. - Collaborate with team members to re-build the application using TypeScript. - Design and ship AI features - prompts, evals, tool-use, agent flows - that genuinely change what the product can do for users. - Own meaningful slices of the product end-to-end - you'll make the calls, ship the work, and live with the results. - Work closely with the leadership team and our team of legal experts. What you'll bring - 8+ years building and shipping full-stack web products in production – ideally including at least one you took from zero to users. - A track record of accomplishments you're proud of – hard problems solved, products shipped. - Deep proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js and modern web development frameworks. - Strong data modelling instincts – you've designed schemas that survived contact with real users and changing requirements, not just queried existing ones. - A CS or engineering degree, or the equivalent depth picked up by building things – we care about how you think, not where you learned it. - Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into a product – prompts, evals, tool use, or agent flows. You don't need to have trained a model, but you should know what works and what doesn't in production. Even better if you have; - Worked on a greenfield project or in an early-stage team, and know the difference between 'scrappy' and 'sloppy'. - Exposure to legal tech, SaaS products, or early-stage tech teams. - An interest in machine learning and building new AI models. You are the type of person who embodies these traits - Communication. You're concise in speech and writing, and you collaborate openly and positively. - Motivation. You're driven to make a real difference through your work, and find genuine joy in seeing users benefit from what you create. - Pragmatic. You understand the trade-offs between quality and velocity, and consistently strike the right balance. - Curiosity. You constantly ask who, what, where, when and why, seeking deeper understanding and better solutions. Settify is an inclusive, people-first company committed to breaking down institutional barriers that keep people from reaching their potential. If you meet some, but not all the requirements above, we encourage you to still submit your application. Why join Settify? - Your work matters.
