Mentimeter is an engagement company with a simple goal: to make every leader better. Through interaction, insights and recommendations, its platform helps organizations turn participation into better understanding and stronger performance. Founded in Stockholm in 2012, Mentimeter is used by 20 million people each month across 1.3 million organizations. At Mentimeter, we believe better leadership starts with listening and that the strongest results are achieved together. That’s why we foster a culture built on curiosity, collaboration and shared ownership. By joining us, you’ll help leaders turn participation into deeper understanding and stronger performance, advancing our ambition to help more than one billion people listen, learn and work better together. At Mentimeter, our User Research team exists to turn what we learn about people into evidence others can trust, find, and act on with confidence - giving every decision better odds of being the right one. We deeply believe our understanding of users gets sharper when insights travel and compound, rather than living in individual studies, decks, or teams. That means we think as much about how insights move through the organization, and how we empower others to build their own understanding, as we do about how research itself is generated. As Senior User Researcher, you’ll join at a genuinely exciting moment, helping to lead a shift in how Mentimeter learns about its users. Mentimeter has never had more signals about its users - more data, more studies, and more conversations with customers than ever before. The opportunity now is to connect it: building the artifacts, tools and ways of working that turn all of that signal into shared understanding that moves across teams, holds up over time, and makes the whole company smarter about its users. You’ll care deeply about the integrity of evidence, making it effortless to find and use, and keeping the lead time from question to decision tight. You’ll obsess over clarity and usability, distilling real depth into insights simple enough to stick, spread, and actually change minds. And you won’t do this alone: you’ll work closely with Product Teams, Behavioral Science, Data, Customer Support, and other areas that sit close to the user, as part of a broader push across Mentimeter toward genuine customer obsession. What we are looking for We are looking for someone who doesn't fit the typical User Researcher mold. You likely have a strong design background, or product management instincts, and real experience sitting inside a product team. You think about research as a continuous practice, and you're energized by figuring out new methods and tools when the existing ones don't fit, rather than waiting for someone to hand you a better process. You're comfortable in a fast-moving environment, and you communicate with the same rigor you research with. You think about the design and communication of insight itself: not reports, but evidence that's genuinely usable and memorable, something a team can pick up and act on without you in the room. You move fluently between a single product-level question and the company-level strategy it connects to, and you never lose the thread back to business impact. You operate as a true peer to Product Designers and Product Managers, not as a service function they consult. In this role, you will: - Own the synthesis layer: Take ownership of cross-team synthesis and the shared strategic artifacts that let insight compound and travel, instead of living and getting trapped inside a single study. - Design the evidence, not just gather it: Turn research into something clear, easy to consume, and genuinely inspiring to use. Evidence design is as much a craft here as the research itself. - Build what doesn't exist yet: Experiment with and build new methods, tools, and formats as the way we learn about users evolves, including how we use AI to scale and operationalize research. - Connect questions to strategy: Work fluidly across product-level research questions and company-level strategic bets, always tying the work to measurable business impact. - Partner as a peer: Collaborate closely with Product Designers and Product Leaders, shaping direction rather than being brought in to validate decisions already made. - Work the loops, not just the moments: Help build the feedback loops that make Mentimeter smarter about its users over time, in close partnership with Behavioral Science, Data, Customer Support and other teams close to the user. - Raise the bar on clarity: Hold a high standard for simplicity in every artifact you produce, no matter how deep the underlying work. If it doesn't stick and spread, it hasn't done its job. Requirements - Experience being embedded in a product team, not operating as a separate or purely service-oriented research function. SaaS experience or similar is a plus. - Either a Product Designer with strong User Research skills, or a User Researcher with strong Product Design or PM instincts - you’re someone who naturally thinks in both disciplines. - Experience at a product company with multiple products or product areas, where insight has to travel across teams rather than live in one. - 7+ years of experience in research, product design, or a hybrid role, with a track record of work that visibly shaped product or strategic decisions. - Strong communication and storytelling skills - you’re able to turn complexity into something simple enough to spread and hard to ignore. - Comfortable building new ways of working as the practice of research itself changes. - Business acumen strong enough to connect research to retention, expansion, or other outcomes that matter at a company level. - Genuine interest in using AI to scale and evolve how research is done, not just how it's delivered. Learn more about our benefits by visiting our Benefits & Perks page AI and Hiring at Mentimeter At Mentimeter, we believe AI helps us work smarter - but it never replaces the human assessment, curiosity, and personal connection that define our culture and our hiring. We use AI as a sparring partner: to bounce ideas, bring new perspectives, support structure, and make our work more efficient. But the meaning, decisions, and interactions always come from people. AI strengthens our work, but it does not define it. At Mentimeter, we’re not building an AI-driven hiring process - we’re building a people-first culture, where technology helps us listen, learn, and grow together. Culture at Mentimeter At Mentimeter we believe in giving everyone a voice - regardless of who you are. So we build a platform that does just that. Our platform is not only our product but also our organization. A platform where people feel safe, where differences are embraced, a place where you can have fun. We strongly encourage applicants who are people of color, LGBTQ+, women, people with disabilities, and/or formerly incarcerated people, and a college degree is not strictly required. In order to give everyone a voice, we need to be as diverse as our users. Learn more about our culture by visiting our Culture page. Review our Privacy Policy for more information.
