About the role We're looking for a commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel to join our growing EMEA Legal team, based in the Netherlands. In this role, you'll be the trusted legal partner to our Sales organisation across the BeNeNord region, helping the business navigate complex deals, manage risk pragmatically, and support growth. You'll spend much of your time advising on commercial contracts and negotiations, while also providing guidance on employment-related matters in close partnership with our People team. This is a highly visible role where you'll work closely with Sales leaders and stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Security, Privacy, Product, Marketing and People. We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, finding practical solutions, and helping a business move forward rather than simply identifying risks. If you thrive in a fast-paced SaaS environment, enjoy rolling up your sleeves, and want to be part of a collaborative team that values initiative and fresh thinking, we'd love to hear from you. What you'll be doing - Become a trusted advisor to our Sales teams, helping them structure, negotiate and close commercial agreements across the BeNeNord region. - Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of customer, partner and technology agreements, including SaaS, cloud services, professional services, reseller agreements, NDAs and data processing addendums. - Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Security, Privacy, Product and Delivery to move deals efficiently while balancing commercial objectives and legal risk. - Provide practical, solution-oriented advice on commercial, regulatory, privacy and employment law matters. - Support the People team on employee-related issues including employment documentation, investigations, performance matters, reorganisations and terminations. - Help improve contracting processes, playbooks, templates and guidance that enable the business to scale effectively. - Contribute to regional and global legal initiatives and collaborate closely with colleagues across the wider EMEA Legal team. What we're looking for We're interested in speaking with lawyers who combine strong technical foundations with commercial judgement and a genuine desire to partner with the business. You'll likely bring: - 5+ years of legal experience gained in-house, at a law firm, or a combination of both. - Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial technology and SaaS agreements. - Knowledge of Dutch employment law and experience supporting employee-related matters. - The ability to understand business objectives, assess risk, and offer pragmatic solutions. - Experience building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. - A proactive, collaborative and action-oriented approach. - Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch language skills would be advantageous. - Experience working in a technology, SaaS or international business environment. What will make you successful - You lead with confidence, influence effectively, and challenge constructively. - You see yourself as a business enabler rather than the "department of no". - You're comfortable navigating ambiguity and changing priorities. - You enjoy working closely with commercial teams and helping them achieve their goals. - You combine sound legal judgement with common sense and practicality. - You're curious, eager to learn, and bring fresh ideas to the table. Benefits & Perks Our Netherlands benefits package includes 30 days' annual leave, a 15% employer pension contribution, ESPP participation, additional paid wellbeing days, flexible public holidays, professional development support, home office reimbursement and discounted gym membership. AvePoint is proud to employ talent from many different backgrounds, experiences, and identities. We believe that diversity and inclusion drives our success and is at the core of how we hire, communicate, and collaborate to deliver value and excellence. We are committed to fostering an environment where people can bring their whole selves to work and feel a sense of belonging, and we continue to work toward creating a workforce that represents the diversity of our customers and communities. #LI-EG1 Any personal data you share with us during the application process will be processed strictly in compliance with applicable data protection laws and our Privacy Notice.
