THE OPPORTUNITY AT BEAM We’re looking for exceptional Staff Engineers with a product-mindset to join our product teams to help build the future of Beam. It’s a passionate and growing team (doubled in size in 2026) that values autonomy, empowerment and bias-to-action. As we scale, the complexity of the problems we face continues to increase, especially in the implementation of AI in a scaled product. What you’ll be doing - Driving technical direction across our teams. - Building the systems that allow us to scale globally. - Continuously innovating on our use of AI internally to drive gains across product and engineering. - Releasing your work to 100,000+ users multiple times a day in tight AI driven iterations. - Building the products that will shape how public services are delivered globally. - Taking ownership over departmental technical direction. What we’re looking for You would be an amazing fit as Staff Engineer if you have: - Breadth of experience across infrastructure, backend, frontend and data. - Proven experience evolving systems for scale. - Product mindset, passionate about building the right thing. - Genuine excitement about the power of AI and how it will shape our profession. - Openness to learning our stack - We use the latest Ruby on Rails, Typescript, and PostgreSQL running on GCP.
